Working with the Head Grower and/or Production Manager, the Production Associate performs a variety of tasks in cultivation, harvesting, and processing operations in licensed medical cannabis production facilities to ensure compliance with Health Canada’s Access for Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) as well as other applicable regulations.
This competency-based training program provides students with the necessary skills and abilities to meet standard operating procedures in all job functions. Students are instructed on how to perform grow operations such as soil preparation, propagation, transplanting, watering/fertigation, defoliation, trimming and pruning, harvesting, and inventory management. Monitoring and inspecting crops to determine plant health (identifying pests and disease), taking pest control measures to maintain crop health, as well as cleaning and sanitizing production rooms and equipment will also be covered.

Participants should be generally familiar with horticulture (or similar agricultural, food, pharmaceutical, or related industrial) operations. Experience in greenhouse and/or agricultural operations would be beneficial.
